Vanuatu Rugby Union has yet to finalise the appointment of their new development officers.

The Daily Post yesterday published an article on the appointment of the two new development officers which is still in progress with VRU.

The VRU High Performance Unit manager Thomas Bruce clarified the duo have yet to receive their appointment letters for formal confirmation on their appointments.

Meanwhile Oceania Rugby has indicated earlier this year that strategic plans have been set to support and develop the sport in Vanuatu.

Speaking to this newspaper Oceania Rugby Regional Training Manager Talemo Waqa confirmed they were waiting for boarders to open to conduct Rugby Medical courses, Strength and Conditioning Course and One on One Coaching courses to interested participants and to those coaches who wish to further their coaching qualification.

Waqa would be accompanied by one of the regional top rugby physiotherapist, sports administrator and Pacific’s first female to be in the World Rugby Council member Cathy Wong and would be conducting Rugby Medical courses.

Another area they would want to assist in the country is women’s and grass-root rugby.
