Vanuatu Men’s Rugby 7s team names final squad

Vanuatu Rugby men’s 7s team have named their final 14 men squad to participate in the 2019 Oceania Rugby 7s Championship which will be held at the ANZ Stadium on November 7-9.

In statement on Vanuatu Rugby 7s Facebook Page; “Congratulations to our gladiators who will battle for Vanuatu in the Oceania Rugby 7s in November 2019. A great effort and a special mention to all the hard working coaching staff and management.

“The retention of some core players who were faithful campaigners year in and year out will lift the overall performance and provide confidence into the new comers.”

This year’s Oceania Rugby Sevens Championships will serve as the regional qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with one direct qualification spot available in each Men’s and Women’s sections with the two runners up from each section gaining qualification for the final repechage event to determine one remaining spot for Tokyo.

The tournament draws that will comprise of both the International and Olympic section, will be played concurrently with the initial stages of the draw in the Olympic section designed to satisfy the required International Olympic Committee and World Rugby Olympic Qualification criteria before the sections merge for the overall Oceania Rugby Sevens crown.
