The first ever Vanuatu Darts team will participate at the 2020 Pacific Regional Darts Championship which will be held in Niue on January 13-17.

Vanuatu Darts Federation will be sending a team of 8 male and 8 female players.

This would also be the first overseas tournament for the national Darts team as they were presented to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Vanuatu Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee( VASANOC) at VASANOC conference room on Tuesday.

MYDS DG, Henry Vira and VASANOC CEO, Henry Tavoa congratulated the management and players for taking initiative to fundraise for this event and also wished them well.

According to the statement sent by Vanuatu Darts Federation stated; “All team logistics have been finalised and the team will be travelling to Auckland this Friday January 10 en-route to Niue the following day Saturday January 11.”

The comp proper will start next Monday and culminates on January 17, with participating teams from Niue, Nauru, Tonga and possibly Papua New Guinea (yet to confirm).

The reigning champion country at present is PNG who won the gold medal in 2018 when Vanuatu through PVDA hosted the first ever Pacific Region Championship here in Port Vila.

The Team departs Port Vila tomorrow.
