Vanuatu Darts team settled well  in Niue

The first ever Vanuatu Darts team have arrived in Niue for the 2020 Pacific Regional Darts Championship which starts today and culminates on Friday.

Vanuatu Darts president Steve Buchanan confirmed to this newspaper yesterday the national team have arrived and are enjoying the Niue environment.

“Team arrived in Niue on Saturday. They checked venue on Sunday and had two practise sessions today(yesterday) in prep for tournament tomorrow(today),” Buchanan said.

Vanuatu Darts Federation sent a team of eight male and eight female players.

This would also be the first overseas tournament for the national Darts team as they were presented to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Vanuatu Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee( VASANOC) at VASANOC conference room before departing the country.

The reigning champion country at present is PNG who won the gold medal in 2018 when Vanuatu through PVDA hosted the first ever Pacific Region Championship here in Port Vila.
