Sia Raga Returns To The Premiership

Sia Raga Football Club have claimed the Division 1 Championship of the Port Vila Football Association (PVFA) and booked their return to the Premier Division.

The team, mostly made up of boys from North Pentecost residing in the capital, topped the 1st division after 10 wins, 3 draws and a loss in 14 games.

Coach Collins Brown told Buzz FM 96 that he is proud of his team’s achievement and looks forward to the upcoming 2019-20 season.

He has a young side and says change is inevitable.

He hopes for the best in the upcoming season and says he is using the upcoming independence cup as a way to prepare his boys for their return to top flight football.

Mauwia Football Club, comprised of boys from Emau living in Port Vila finished second to Sia Raga and now have a chance of also making it back to top flight football when they take on the premier division’s second last placed team, which is most likely to be Yatel.

Sia Raga FC at one stage were a force to be reckoned with in the Premier Division and boasted a few national reps.

The men in yellow have notable former players such as Charles Ligo, Lexar Bule, Reginald Garoleo, John Garoleo, Sammy Lini, Russel Nari and Charles Vatu.
