Ovins women wins Women’s Rugby 7s competition

Ovins women’s rugby 7s team won the Women’s rugby month competition following a 19-0 walloping over Shepherds.

Ovins who had mixture of experience national players were too strong for Shepherds who played two matches on the day. Ovins was strong in their attacking line, aggressive in defence and played a well structured game.

Shepherds played a gutsy performance until the final whistle.

Ovins kept to their style and walked away with the winning prize money while Shepherds finish as runners up of the competition.

Warriors finish 3rd place

Newly formed Warriors women’s team finished in third place following a 10-0 defeat to Shepherds.

Warriors consists of 90 percent of women who are playing rugby for the first time and enjoyed the sport.

Bolstering the Warriors team were few Fijian women who helped formed the team.
