A well deserved victory for the prominent Futsal club, in the Shefa premier futsal league, HUKA FC as they outplayed a young and vibrant Arab Y 6 FC in the grand final of the 2020 Shefa league on Wednesday.
Huka FC, has been a household name in the Vanuatu Futsal discipline, since 2013, is now leading the table in the Shefa premier league chart of 2019/2020.
The president of the Huka FC, Mr. Nigel Quai, said the club is working hard to win the premier division championship of the Shefa futsal league this year 2020, with its current players, who are all range from in the age of 18 to 24 years old.
Mr. Quai, is very happy with the progress of the Club’s boys team, and hoping that they qualify for the OFC this year that normally take place in New Zealand.
Huka FC is the first local futsal club to import players from overseas. There are currently three players from the Solomon islands that are in the Huka FC boys team. The three boys were all in the Solomon Islands under 17 square that toured Argentina in South America, New Zealand and Tahiti in 2017.
The trio include Calvin Do’oro, George Mani and William Tahariu are currently the key players in the team, and at the same time mentoring the local players. New star local players, with the likes of Ritchie Ruru Toka, Terry Bong, and Didier James are promising players to join the team Captain, Benny Hungai and vice Captain, Anthony Christopher Quai to wear the Vanuatu national Team colour.
Apparently, Huka FC girls team is currently leading the girls league at the Shefa futsal league 2019/2020 season.
