The first day of the VGO 2019 got off to a great start with 194 players teeing it up seeking to win their respective grades.

The event for the amateurs is split into 3 grades for the men and 2 grades for the ladies

The Port Villa Golf Club was in perfect condition as was the weather

The SE trade winds kicked in as the day progressed and morning scoring for the Professionals proved to be the best for the day with day 1 leader Tim Hart shooting an impressive 66.

Tim is the current PGA order of merit leader in Australia and has shown some great form throughout 2019.

The big hitting Alex Edge is 2nd on his own on 69 whilst the 3 others share equal 3rd being Aaron Cox, Vikrant Chandra and Chris Wood

The event ran over 4 days with the finale on Sunday which always attracts a good following from local spectators.
