The PVRL Domestic Competition Committee (PVRLDCC) along with Vate Bulldogs and Port Vila Warriors WRLC came to a consensus last Saturday to postpone the Ifira Black Birds matches for both the women and men due to the passing of Ifira Black Birds RLC senior players mother.

A request was made by the club and the committee along with the other two clubs who were meant to play with Ifira this week was approved by all as a sign of respect for the passing of Toukapa Kalmari.

The 2nd fixtures for both men and women however was continued. The highlight was between Blacksand Diamond and Uluveou Sealions RLC.

Both teams played their second game for the competition and Blacksands Diamonds came on top with their first big win for the season.

Uluveou Sealions was the first to score the first two tries within the first 15 minutes which was quickly countered by Blacksands with two tries of their own.

After the first half, Blacksands had lead 28 (5 tries all converted except 1) to Sealions 16 (3 tries all converted except 1). During the 2nd half, Blacksand Diamonds put another 48 points on the scoreboard (9 tries, all converted except 3). All Sealions attempts at any tries were quickly shut down by the Blacksand Defence.

At full time Blacksand Diamonds won 76 — 16.

Mele Eels WRLC won against Blacksands Diamonds WRLC 30 — 0

“PVRL would like to thank the PVRLDCC and Vanuatu Rugby League for their continuous support of the season.”
