Dear Editor,

I began making trips to Vanuatu in 1996. I can remember how impressed I was on the very first trip, it was amazingly beautiful!

As the years went by I noticed that there began to be a real problem with trash everywhere.

On Tanna a few years ago I experienced a group of students going around Lenakel picking up litter.

I started to notice a change in the way things looked.

Just two or three years ago I noticed how bad Port Vila was looking with litter seeming to be everywhere!

Then I began to read how there was a movement to clean up Port Vila and the rest of Vanuatu.

This year on my trip there I noticed the difference in the way things looked in Port Vila.

That original beauty I noticed so long ago is returning!

I am impressed at the difference and would encourage those that are making the difference to continue.

I encourage all citizens in Vanuatu to care enough about it’s beauty to continue making a difference!
