Dear Editor,

I have visited your beautiful shores over the last 27 years numerous times on my own yachts, or as delivery skipper on other vessels.

More than once I have emailed the Vanuatu Customs authorities with a request to enter or depart your shores via a port that is not a port of arrival, or another Customs related request (using a on board motorbike on your roads for example).

On every occasion, I received a lighting fast and friendly response from one of the efficient staff members from Vanuatu Customs, with very clear instructions on how to get my request looked at.

Using the suggested pathway, my requests have then always been dealt with in a positive way.

As well, when visiting the customs office in Port Vila, (or Sola, for that matter) the correct, but helpful and friendly staff members gave me the feeling, that I am a valued and welcome visitor and not just another client that creates work for them, as it is often the case on other borders.

Whilst this is not the only reason, but certainly it is not the least, why I (and my various crew) are already looking forward to visit your shores again this year.

I want to use this forum to express my thanks to all members of Vanuatu Customs and especially those whom I had dealings with, for their outstanding customer service and professionalism. and I wish them and their families a happy and peaceful New Year.

With friendly regards

Martin Vogel
