WOMAN CHARGED OVER FATAL STABBING

A young mother from Pentecost who was accused of allegedly murdering her partner by stabbing him with a knife on Pentecost last Friday, is now remanded at the Correctional facility in Port Vila.

She was arrested and escorted to Vila on November 30 by members of the Vanuatu Police.

The suspect was charged with one count of Intentional Assault causing death contrary to Section 107 (d) of the Penal Code Act [CAP 135].

Police confirmed she will appear before the Magistrate Court for Preliminary Hearing on December 13.

Police continue to appeal to the people of Malekula, Tongoa and Pentecost to remain calm and let the law take its course.
