VT52 Billion National Budget Approved

Parliament has approved a national budget of VT52,565, 295,917 for the services of the Government during the financial year commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2021 yesterday afternoon.

Finance Minister Johnny Koanapo thanked MPs from both sides of the House and said he was pleased with comments and questions raised through wisdom and common sense from MPs who contributed in discussions and debate on the budget that was approved.

He thanked the national budget committee for their guidance in putting the budget together, Directors general, Directors, all public servants and staff of the Ministry of Finance for the hard work in the overall process of the 2021 national budget.

Tanna MP Jotham Napat congratulated Minister Koanapo, saying the new Minister stepped in a most challenging time for Vanuatu but he has proved his capability as the new Minister of Finance.

Finance Minister Koanapo assured the nation that the government will execute the budget to benefit the people of Vanuatu.
