The Vanuatu Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic and the National Eye Care Centre at Vila Central Hospital (VCH) will be celebrating the International Nurses Day today at the VCH Eye Center.

The event is celebrated globally with the theme “Nurses a Voice to Lead. A Vision for Future Health”.

Eye Nurse practitioner, Mrs Monique Tari said that the ENT Clinic and the National Eye Care Center feel that they need to celebrate the achievements and the contributions of nurses at VCH and throughout Vanuatu for their tremendous assistance within the health sector.

With both clinics still functioning without a Doctor, Ms Tari said that only nurses carry out responsibilities within the clinics.

“We at the Eye Care Center and ENT clinic want to celebrate this day.

“It is an important day for all nurses globally. In a health facility, nurses are at the frontline tending to sick patients every day.

“We feel that it is important to share our appreciation with them for being there always in assisting patients daily,” said Ms Tari.

Happy International Nurses Day to all hardworking nurses throughout Vanuatu.
