Vanuatu First Party (VFP)’s Member of Parliament Anatole Hymak is the new Leader of Government Business.

He replaces Tanna MP Robin Kapapa who resigned on the 3rd of September 2020 to join the Opposition bloc.

The appointment of the Efate Rural MP as Leader of Government Business was announced by government Public Relations Officer (PRO) Fred Vurobaravu yesterday.

Mr Vurobaravu said the decision to appoint MP Hymak was based on the consensus of the political blocs in the Loughman-led Government after the Prime Minister’s return from his home constituency of Tanna where he attended Nekowiar (Toka Custom Dance Festival) last week.

“MP Hymak represents Vanuatu First Party and he is part of the Vanua’aku Pati (VP)’s political grouping which has seven VP MPs, one VFP MP and another MP from Trade Minister James Bule’s People’s Unity and Development Party,” he explained.

Mr Hymak’s appointment became effective on Monday September 14 (yesterday) and Speaker of Parliament Gracia Shadrack has been informed accordingly.
