Vanuatu Daily Post awarded grant to publish New York Times content

Vanuatu Daily Post has been awarded a grant which will fully fund an agreement to select and publish English/Chinese articles and photos from The New York Times.

The New York Times produces about 120 articles and 200 photos per day across all verticals — news, sports, business, lifestyle and entertainment.

NYT articles are behind a hard paywall so unless a reader is already a digital subscriber, he or she would not have access to their content.

The NYT Chinese language news service — a selection of news and lifestyle stories translated by its Beijing and HK bureau is also part of the package.

Daily Post already has a weekly Chinese news page, translating local stories into Mandarin which is published every Tuesday thus this component will be useful in complementing our content with more unique global stories.

Vanuatu Daily Post is privileged to the only one selected from Vanuatu and it is the first opportunity for NYT to cooperate with a local publication here, enabling us to share with our readers the journalistic excellence, breadth of coverage and multimedia storytelling of The New York Times newsroom and more of the world’s leading media brands.
