Two months severance pay for teachers to start in 2021

TSC plans to offer two months severance for teachers starting next year

The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) plans to start offering teachers with two months severance pay starting next year.

Chairman of TSC, Moulin Tabouti, announced this in the presence of the Minister of Education, Seule Simeon and education officials during the recent launching of the Teacher Registration and Licensing Policy.

His announcement followed the declaration by the Public Service Commission (PSC) that civil servants will be paid two months severance pay.

The TSC Staff Manual which is currently under review must cover the change from one-month severance pay to two months, he conveyed.

“Once gazetted, teachers will also be receiving two months’ severance pay rate,” said Tabouti.

“This will become effective next year.”

TSC and the Vanuatu Education Support Program were requested to collaborate and develop a strategic plan, to monitor achievements and areas of improvement in the education and training system.
