Proposed Chief’s National Anthem for Chiefs Day

A chief from Paama who told Daily Post that he instigated the first ever Chief’s National Day for Vanuatu, has composed a National Anthem for the chiefs.

Chief Harry Collins said Chiefs Day is approaching and chiefs should sing the proposed Chiefs anthem on their day.

The lyrics of the anthem is as follows;

“Oh God Who rules over the earth

“Defend Vanuatu, our native land

“Land of our birth, Land of our pride

“Let one and all to thee abide with one accord

“We shall unite to fear God

”And honor our chiefs.”

The Paama chief said he approached the Malvatumauri National Council of Chiefs office once and they discussed aproposed the Chief’s National anthem but nothing productive eventuated after that.

The lyrics of the anthem is in English. Chief Collins said if the chiefs and anyone wanting to sing the proposed anthem during the upcoming event, they are welcome to contact him on his mobile number 7753171 so he could teach them the tune of the song.

He added that anyone can change the tune of the song but the lyrics must not be changed.
