Police Officers to Undergo Cybercrime Courses

Community Liaison Officer from the Police Crime Prevention Unit (CPU), Ala Rayndol has confirmed the ongoing consultations to send officers to study Cybercrime at USP Emalus. Officer Rayndol said at the moment there are no Cybercrime inspectors.

“There is a need to train Police Officers to fit in the required roles before we can pass the Bill for Cybercrime Act in the country,” he said.

“With ongoing consultations, the Police Commissioner has yet to approve before they can be enrolled next month,” he said “They will be undergoing Cybercrime courses for 6 months at the Emalus University.”
