Police complaint lodged over profanity against caretaker PM on Facebook

The apology made by the young man.

A complaint has been lodged with police over the use of foul language against caretaker Prime Minister, Charlot Salwai, on Facebook.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) to the caretaker PM said a young man had deliberately used an offensive word in a post on Facebook, specifically mentioning the caretaker PM’s name.

According to PRO Bule, chiefs and leaders from Central Pentecost have expressed their concerns and frustrations at how a citizen can swear directly at the country’s caretaker PM.

“It clearly shows that particular person lacks respect for our leaders,” Bule stated.

Meanwhile, the young man has made a public apology over his post on Facebook.

But Bule said the apology won’t change anything as the complaint has already been filed with police.
