Four young men have pleaded guilty to assaulting and stealing from the Director of Wan Smol Bag Theatre, Peter Walker and his relatives, a case which shocked the whole community of Port Vila and Efate in August last year.

Samuel Bule was charged with one count of Sexual Intercourse without consent, contrary to section 90 and 91 of the Penal Code. He admitted to one count of Robbery contrary to section 137 of the Penal Code, and another three counts of Intentionally Assault causing permanent injury.

Bule further pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Trespass contrary to section 144 (a) of the Penal Code [CAP 135], and a final count of Theft.

Andrew Imaleng also entered guilty pleas on similar charges that were laid against Bule.

Two other offenders who are minors have admitted to charges of Criminal Trespass and Theft.

It was related in court that the incident occurred on August 30, 2019, at the residence of Mr. Walker at Teouma area.

They had intentionally entered Walker’s property and stole properties belonging to Walker and the two other victims, through the use of violence.

According to court documents, two of the offenders assaulted the WSB Director and his two relatives with a piece of wood and caused them to sustain permanent injuries.

Their sentence will be handed down on June 17, 2020.
