Ombudsman warns against usage of G-vehicles in political campaigns

Amidst the ongoing political campaigns for the Provincial elections, the Ombudsman of Vanuatu has called on all leaders to refrain from using government vehicles in their political campaigns.

The office of the Ombudsman has received reports of some political parties that are using G-vehicles for their political interests.

Mr. Hamilson Bulu said the key function of the Ombudsman to ensure leaders and the government observe the law in whatever they do.

He urged leaders who are taking part in the political campaigns to do the right thing.

Anyone caught using the official government vehicles for political purpose especially, during this campaign period will be dealt with accordingly by relevant authorities, including the Public Service Commission.
