New Minimum Wage Effective

Vanuatu’s new Minimum Wage of VT220 has been published in the official gazette.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Napuat signed and announced the Minimum Wage increase from VT200 to VT220 per hour on September 5 2019.

The amendment was subsequently published in the official gazette on the 17th of September and is applicable to the day it was made.

Employers are duly advised to review their staff’s wages retroactively from the start of September if required, in order to make this change as efficient and cost effective as possible.
