The coalition Government led by Prime Minister Bob Loughman still commands the majority of MPs and is confident of defeating any motion of no confidence during the upcoming ordinary sitting.
This was reaffirmed on Wednesday when all the political groupings came together to celebrate six months since this government came into power.
Public Relation Officer to the Prime Minister’s Office, Fred Vurobaravu said all the leaders reiterated their pledge to the government and continuing to work together
“All the government backbenchers were present, along with ministers and the government still commands 28 MPs, excluding the Speaker,” PRO Vurobaravu stated.
Daily Post was reliably informed that there was an attempt to convince an MP from Malekula to join the Opposition but it was unsuccessful.
Meanwhile the Speaker of Parliament has summoned MPs for the Second Ordinary Session on November 5.
