Fest Tamariki show reflects on culture and tradition

The 7th edition of Fest Tamariki show this year has proven to be another successful story.

Chairlady of the event's organising committee, Mrs. Agnes Esau explained that with the chosen theme "reviving culture and upgrading music skills", this event aimed to provide the opportunity for the students to showcase their culture and tradition, and also engage them in cultural activities that could educate them about culture and heritage as being part of their identity.

She further added that the students also demonstrated the skills that they have acquired during their music lessons.

"We also have in our curriculum what we know as performing arts.

"Music lessons are inserted in this curriculum. So our students have the opportunity to use the musical instruments such as keyboard and guitar," she said.

Fest Tamariki brought together primary school students from around 18 primary schools around Efate.

It is an annual event which was initially organised on the same week with the popular Fest' Napuan music concert.
