“This year’s theme for Fest’Napuan 2019 will be healthy relationships and consent, adopting World Vision’s Vanuatu RISPEK campaign, ‘Rispektem Yu Wan, Rispektem Narafala Man’.
The partnership between Fest’Napuan and World Vision means that messaging to promote healthy and safe relationships for youth in Vanuatu will be front and centre at Fest’Napuan this year. Songs by well-known music artists, booths with activities, videos and more, will all promote safer, healthier relationships founded on consent and respect.
“World Vision will support Fest’Napuan with both financial and in-kind sponsorship to assist with festival planning and operations this year,” confirmed Millie Greaves, World Vision Gender and Safeguarding Program Manager who will be representing World Vision on the Fest’Napuan Committee in 2019.
“Financial support comes from both generous grant funding from the Australian Government and donations from the people of Australia through World Vision Australia.”
Richard Shing, Fest’ Napuan’s 2019 Chairperson endorsed the partnership, saying “The Committee is very excited for Fest’Napuan 2019 and greatly appreciates the generous support of World Vision.
“We are looking forward to working with the team to deliver messages and activities around this important theme!”
Fest’Napuan 2019 will return as the largest free-to-the-public cultural event in Vanuatu and the region.
Alongside theme activities, food, kava and merchandise stalls, thousands of guests can expect the very best of Vanuatu’s vibrant music scene, along with several visiting international bands.
