Expat suspect remanded pending reserved judgement

Seventy-three-year-old English suspect, David Pattinson has be re-arrested by Police and remanded at the Correctional Centre Friday last week.

Criminal case 14/153/SC which has been pending in court since 2014 was last heard earlier this month by Supreme Court Judge, Mary Sey.

Pattinson who first arrived in Vanuatu in 2014 in a yacht, is facing a charge of indecency with a young person contrary to section 98A of the penal code 13.

Although there were more than two occasions were Pattinson was arrested for the same allegation, the court is only dealing with two occasion where the accused was said to be with minor boys.

From last week's hearing the court will be issuing a reserved judgement on the charges laid against the 73-year-old.

The case was being prolonged for the past two years because the accused breached his bail condition and left the country.

He disappeared with his yacht, Serenity last year while on bail only to return to the country this year by air.

After his return this year the British national was released on bail and Daily Post has heard concerns from Port Vila residents who claim they have spotted him near local boys.
