COVID-19 patients still in isolation

Director General of the Ministry of Health, Russell Tamata has confirmed the two COVID-19 patients are still in isolation at the Vila Central Hospital in Port Vila.

The confirmation clears rumours that they have been released.

Mr Tamata said the duo will be released after retesting by Vanuatu health authorities.

On the subject of repatriation, DG Tamata it is not an official decision but in discussion. It has been over a month since the two patients were isolated after arriving on a chartered aircraft from Papua New Guinea.
