Ballot papers for the 2020 general election will be delivered to all polling stations throughout the country, starting this weekend.
Ballot papers for Tongoa, Shepherds Islands, Epi, Paama, Ambrym, Pentecost and Banks and Torres, will leave on Vanuatu’s patrol boat RVS Tukoro, this weekend.
Ballot papers for polling stations on Ambae, Maewo, Santo, Malo, Aore and Malekula, will be airfreighted.
Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Martin Tete, says ballot papers for all polling stations in TAFEA Province will be delivered by the Solomon Islands Patrol Boat.
Mr. Tete reconfirms that political campaigns ends on Monday 16th March 2020 at 12 midnight. This gives two clear days, before polling on Thursday 19th March 2020.
He assured the population of Vanuatu that so far, the overall organization for the 2020 national parliamentary elections is going well and according to plan. He acknowledges the government, NGOs and donor partner organizations for their positive contributions towards one of the most decisive general elections in the country’s history.
