Australia Day to be commemorated on January 29

The Australian High Commissioner will be hosting a reception to celebrate the 2020 Australia Day in Port Vila on January 29.

Invitations are being sent out to respective members of different sectors in Port Vila to attend the event.

The celebration will take place at the Australian High Commission premises in Port Vila.

It will start at 6pm and end at 8pm.

Australia Day is the official national day of Australia.

Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove.
