The Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF) Board has a new chairman.

He is Letlet August, the Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MoFEM).

Private Secretary and Advisor to the Minister of Finance, Willie Toama, said that the Minister of Finance, Johnny Koanapo, has confirmed the new VNPF Board chairman’s appointment during a recent VNPF Forum on Tanna.

DG August conveyed that his appointment became effective from June 22.

August has been carrying out duties in the absence of Chairman Alain Lew who has allegedly resigned.

The Daily Post understands that the VNPF Board has not endorsed the former chairman’s resignation letter.

Mr August will be serving as the Chairman of the VNPF Board for the next three years.
