Vanuatu Volleyball Federation (VVF) is very happy with the results of its matches during the National Provincial Game, held for a week in Tanna Island from 6th to 11th of May 2019.
The opening ceremony took place on the 5th of May seeing all the athletes, coaches, Team Managers from Provinces from Torba, Sanma, Luganville, Malampa, Penama, Shefa, Port Vila, Tafea marched from Bethel into the Laminu Stadium located in the centre of Lenakel town..
“The opening ceremony was outstanding as it saw athletes from different provinces marching alongside each other with their colourful uniform which represent the province that they came out from, and also there were a lot of smiles, laughter and joy from all the people around the town.” Said VVF Media Officer Christel Homu.
VVF kick start its competitions with both Men and Women Beach volleyball games from the 6th to 7th of May, at the Laminu Stadium beach volleyball court 1 and court 2. Provinces that participated in this sport discipline were from Sanma, Luganville, Malampa, Shefa, Port Vila, Tafea as for Torba they were late for their competition due to their flight so they missed out of the competitions.
In the end of the two days of beach volleyball competitions the medal results show that for the Men’s tournament, First place Port Vila (Gold), Second place Luganville (Silver) and Third place goes to Sanma (Bronze). As for
the Women beach volleyball competition it saw First place goes to team Tafea (Gold), Second place Port Vila (Silver) and third place Shefa in winning (Bronze).
As for Indoor Volleyball medals results shows for the Men’s teams Port Vila (Gold), Shefa (Silver) and Luganville won (Bronze), for the Women’s teams competing in the Indoor Volleyball National Provincial Games the First place goes to Tafea (Gold), Second place Luganville (Silver) and Third place goes to team Sanma (Bronze).
