Vanuatu to stage athletics training camp

World Para Athletics and the Vanuatu Paralympic Committee have announced the delivery of a coaching and athlete training camp from 7-9 December in Port Vila, as part of the Vanuatu 2017 Pacific Mini Games.

It will be funded by the Agitos Foundation, the development arm of the International Paralympic Committee, under the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Development Programme.

Throughout the three-day camp, coaches will receive classroom training in the mornings and participate in supervised coaching sessions in the afternoon. Athletes will take part in the afternoon sessions and will be trained by their coaches under the supervision of the lead educator.

Coaches interested in taking part in the camp should have experience in leading or training groups of Para athletes, while candidate athletes should be active, be competing at Vanuatu 2017 and have the ambition to grow and develop the sport.

All candidates should have an understanding of the Paralympic Movement, must be nominated by their NPC and have fluent written and spoken English skills.

Application forms for candidates and more information can be found at the World Para Athletics education page: https://www.paralympic.org/athletics/education/coaching. Application deadline is 6 October 2017.
