Vanuatu Cricket’s Selina Solman will live the dream of many cricket girls around the world to play against some of the best in the game, after being selected in the second ICC Women’s Global Development Team to play against Rebel Women’s Big Bash League Franchise Teams from the 19th to the 23rd of November.
The Women’s Big Bash League is one of, if not the most exciting domestic women’s Cricket competitions in the world and the ICC women’s development team will be playing against three of the franchise teams, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunders.
Solman, representing Vanuatu, will be playing alongside players from Netherlands, PNG, Scotland, Thailand and Zimbabwe, all of which are Associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
With significant experience under her belt, Solman has been promoting Vanuatu women’s cricket internationally through her outstanding performances playing in Australia on player placements and in England earlier this year when she was selected in the FairBreak XI.
She is currently on player placement in Australia, playing for the Southern District Stingrays in Adelaide, and she will join the team in Sydney as they embark on their week-long tour.
The Women’s Global Development Squad is as follows:
