On Wednesday evening at the Port Vila Football Association (PVFA) office, a reconciliation ceremony took place between PVFA and all PVFA referees.

The meeting saw all suspended referees apologizing to the PVFA executive, clubs through the PVFA President. In response the PVFA President, Stephen Felix, on behalf of all PVFA members accepted the apologies and explained that the interest of the member clubs must always be considered priority. Because without the clubs and the players, there will be no competition. The clubs are the ones making important daily sacrifices in finance, time and technical contributions in the development of football in Port Vila.

After the formalities, the responsibilities are now restored with the President of the PVFA Referees committee, Kaltatack Kalokis to organize the referees and to complete the PVFA CHAMPIONSHIP 2018/2019 SEASON.

“Thank you to the outgoing interim chairman Harry Atisson and the former referees to assist PVFA complete the first leg of the PVFA Premier League competition. We need more referees. Appeal goes out to any interested persons, please contact the PVFA referee committee.

“Poor communication, planning and coordination between VFF competition, VFF Referee Development Officer, PVFA Referee committee, PVFA Competition and PVFA executive was the cause of the confusion and conflict that resulted in the suspension of 6 referees end of last year,” PVFA President, Felix said.
