Minister of Sport, Simeon Seule as Chair PGA (Pacific Games Authority) and Mark Stafford Chairman of Van2017 issued statements today confirming the management team of Van2017 led by Clint Flood CEO, has the full support of PGA, Van2017 OC and Government. The oversights in the issue of Mr Flood’s original visa are in the process of being rectified.

With 233 days to go before Opening Ceremonies both Mr Stafford and Minister Seule recognized that there must be full transparency and cooperation between all parties and that Van2017 and the Government needs to work night and day to get the job done.

The Minister was very pleased to announce that the Council of Ministers (CoM) has recently given its support for funding to the level required to ensure a great games.

Minister Seule said that an amount of Vt400 million will be provided in the supplementary budget in the next parliament session to support Van2017, in addition another Vt100 million will support Team Vanuatu and other ancillary requirements related to the Games.

Van2017 will be gaining more momentum in the next week with more staff assignments and at least two more sponsorships to be announced.
