Last Saturday 9th of March 2019 there was a fund-raising BBQ held at Port Vila Hardware from 7.30am to 11.30am, funds raised to contribute towards the costs for VVF athletes travelling to the Pacific Games in Samoa July 2019.

“The target for the Volleyball team was Vt30,000 and from what we sold during our fundraising and the donation from all the people who stop by our tent at the Port Vila Hardware at Nambatu area and gave in their donation was a bonus for us, as it helps raised over the target amount of money that we aim for that day.” Said VVF Media Officer Christel Homu.

The Beach volleyball team sold 16kg of sausages plus 12 loaves of bread, 3 litres of fresh lime juice, 2 Banana bread and 2 chocolate cake baked by VVF’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Charmaine Grame. Players who help out that day were Manuel Maki, Steve Bangaliu, Floflo Daniel, Donny Aru, Touchihi Robert, Coach Joshua Toares, and National Beach Volleyball player Henriette Iatika.

eTech Vanuatu as one of the largest suppliers of IT, Solar and Radio Communications products in Vanuatu has helped sponsor with a value of Vt20,000 to the Vanuatu Beach Volleyball team towards the Samoa Pacific Games this year 2019.

“The beach volleyball team has done Vanuatu proud in international competitions and we believe the profile of the sport must remain high so that young people have worthy role models and get interested in sports from an early age. In the past, we have sponsored cricket and soccer teams as well as assisted with sponsorships for athletes and rowers in international meets,” said CEO of eTech Vanuatu Sashi Singh.

The CEO continues to say that eTech is very confident in the VVF players doing well in the Samoa Pacific games this year 2019, and that eTech Vanuatu hopes that the fundraising is a success and they wish the team the very best,” said VVF Media Officer Christel Homu.

VVF would like to express its greatest appreciation to eTech for their generous sponsorship and also to Port Vila Hardware for the Equipment and Materials used during the Barbeque fundraising and also to Ah Pow Bakery, Super Cool and everyone who stopped by to donate and buying food that day.
