Kalo joins Lautoka FC

Lautoka Blues will be boosted with the signing of Ifira Black Bird FC and Vanuatu football star, Bong Kalo.

The utility midfielder is expected to form a lethal combination with Solomon Islander Benjamin Totori and Blues strike weapons in Dave Radregai, Samuela Nabenia and Samuela Drudru.

Kalo wrote a letter dated 4th of January to the Directors and Management of Ifira Football Club, stating his intent on moving on the other half of 2018/2019 Season to join the blue.

“I am writing formally to you to inform you that I would like to play for Lautoka FC for the 2019 season. Therefore I am requesting for you Federation to seek for my International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“ I am currently playing for Ifira Black Bird in Vanuatu.

“Should there be any further clarification please feel free to contact Lautoka FC on my behalf.

Yours sincerely, Bong Kalo.”

According to Fiji Times, two more players from overseas are expected to join the Blues for the OFC Champions League which starts next month.

Kalo was sought at the end of last month by Hekari United’s Manager Vonnie Natto.

Natto made clear of her intentions to have Kalo over by New Year’s eve, but it seems Lautoka Blues approach was more appealing to Kalo, who took the bait.

Lautoka will host the 2019 OFC Champions League Pool B at home.

Henderson Eels FC from Solomon Islands, AS Central from Tahiti and FC Morobe from Papua New Guinea are in Pool B.

In other news, following a mistake on the amount MP Matai Seremaiah donated to Malampa Revivors in Saturday’s issue, the correct amount was Vt500,000 and not Vt50,000.

Daily Sport would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
