The Vanuatu Beach Volleyball school children have joined together in celebration of the “International Day of sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) on Friday 6th April 2018, down at the beach volleyball court at Stade in Port Vila.

One of Vanuatu Beach Volleyball Program which is funded by Asco Motors called the “After School Program,” which gathers school children from around port Vila every Friday evening to help give out the skills, knowledge, and fitness trainings to the school children who are interested in playing beach volleyball.

There have been plenty of School Children from Central, Anamburu, Vila North, Fonkor, Kawenu, Mele and many other schools have had quite an interesting, fun day, on Friday last week. While the School Children are celebrating this event, our Vanuatu Beach Volleyball women of Linline Matauatu and Miller Pata too have joined in celebration of the “International Day of Sport for Development and Peace,” in Australia.

Vanuatu Coach Joshua Toares trained the U19 (Youth), Manuel Maki and a JICA volunteer in Vanuatu Rui looks after the U14 and Gigi a player at beach volleyball have helped train the Preliminary /U13 school children.

The School Children who have been attending the After School program and also involve in supporting Peace, Gender Equality, Quality Education, Good Health, Peace, Justice and Strong Institution and Well-being have spoken their minds on this matter concerning the theme for today which is “International Day of sport for Development and Peace.”

The Vanuatu Beach Volleyball women have put on an extremely good performance in their first tournament against the Singapore team on Saturday 7th of April 2018, which they won the match in a score of 2-0 against the Singapore team. On Sunday the 8th of April 2018 the Vanuatu Beach Volleyball women of Vanuatu have put on another great performance as they won their second match with a score of 2-0 against team Rwanda.

Their Last match is against New Zealand which will take place at the Coolangatta Beach front yesterday afternoon, Monday 9th of April at 5pm then with the result would see if our women are qualify to the Quarter and Semi Finals which will take place tomorrow Tuesday 10th of April 2018.

Vanuatu Beach Volleyball women are in good shape and are really determined in archiving a Gold for Vanuatu and are aiming for a Podium finish in the upcoming tournament in the Commonwealth Game which is currently taking place in Gold Coast, Australia.
