International Woman’s Day on Wednesday this week, brought excitement to women and girls participating in the kicking off of the women’s footy in Vanuatu as part of the celebration.

It was a good opportunity for those who participated in the training to come and try AFL with our senior players Kiki Whithford and Lenty Tevi who were responsible for the women’s training.

The AFL Vanuatu President Mr David Beauchamp, is really proud to announced that AFL Vanuatu women’s footy is now happening in Vanuatu and wishes to see more women and girls involved to compete in the 2017 AFL Vanuatu women’s competition that will begin in July.

The updates of the event have been sent to the South Pacific Development Manager Mr Ben Drew who shared to the world Footy page was just fantastic and encouraged the women’s footy in Vanuatu to keep the good work up.

“I am very proud to see a good start of our training on Wednesday and looking forward to see more girls of any age to involve,” the AFL Vanuatu Development Program Manager said.
