Fiji’s lone female FIFA referee Finau Vulivuli has been selected to officiate in the 2015 Algarve Cup in March.

The 32-year-old will also attend a FIFA seminar for prospective referees for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 in Portugal.

The seminar is part of the preparation and assessment for the World Cup and it follows up from from the last seminar in Doha in November.

The seminar will take place from 23-27 February while the Algarve Cup will be played from 4-11 March. Vulivuli has officiated in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany, and three FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cups- New Zealand 2008, Trinidad and Tobago 2010 and Azerbaijan 2012.

She was also included among the officials for the 2012 London Olympic Games and has been a regular at OFC tournaments over the years. Recently, she led a trio from Oceania, completed by Jacqueline Stephenson and Sarah Walker of New Zealand, at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada in August.
