Staff, students, and members of the public are invited to a free public lecture at the Conference Room, Emalus Campus on Friday (today) 21 April 2017, 12 Noon.

The public lecture focuses on “DEVELOPMENTS ON THE ULMWP APPLICATION FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP TO THE MSG”, by Ilan Kiloe & Fei Tevi, Melanesian spearhead group (MSG).

Recent developments on the membership of the ULMWP to the MSG has generated great interest within Melanesia and in the broader Pacific region. Whilst the issue of membership has yet to be finalised by the governing body of the MSG, it seems that the public opinion in Melanesia has made up its mind as to what status the ULMWP should have in the MSG. What are the latest developments on this matter? What are the potential scenarios that the MSG could be faced with and what would be the best way forward? What have the leaders agreed to and what is MSG’s vision for the people of West Papua in the MSG Prosperity for All 2038 Plan?
