Dear Editor,

I think this gives us the opportunity to wake the medical research committee, and start preparing for future drug discovery and drug research in Vanuatu.

As a young Ni-Van, I can see lots of potential in this moving forward. The opportunity to make ground preparation is now. I can already see medical research laboratories owned by Ni Van medical scientists venturing into Anti-cancer; Anti-HIV and Anti-Alzheimer drug discoveries.

It may be that the cure for these debilitating chronic diseases is shrouded in Vanuatu flora and fauna somewhere in our tropical forests. I think the time is right. I am very much interested to see how these preparations are developing. The opportunity is huge and the privilege to embrace it is here.
