Describing himself as an “ordinary citizen struggling to meet my needs every day”, Mama Kess Mamatsirah of Port Moresby, PNG writes in his letter to editor (published in the National 8/2/19 and in The Southeast Asian Times 12/2) that “Most politicians are now using public money for their own interest and personal gain.
They enjoy luxurious lifestyles at the expense of Papua New Guineans...
I am deeply concerned about how effective and serious our Government is in reducing unemployment and ... crime, eradicating the income disparity between the rich and poor, and most importantly improving rundown health facilities. Most politicians are very incompetent, immature, retarded or ill minded ...”
I believe many people from other Pacific island countries can relate to what this concerned citizen from PNG is saying.
