Dear Editor,

It has been two weeks since our adult daughter arriving home for holidays had an incident at the airport.

My complaint was lodged in the complaints book with the airport assistant manager who said that a follow up phone call would be made. To date I have not had a response.

On arrival our daughter wanted to catch a bus into town but was hustled and hassled to the point of tears by the taxi drivers.

Where in the world except Vanuatu are you not given an option of choosing the type of transport you can afford to take when you leave the airport?

What authority do the airport taxi drivers have to insist that one can only leave the airport by taxi? Is this happening to all visitors and if so what an unwelcoming experience to Vanuatu?

I wait to hear from the airport authorities before the next holiday or better still we'll go for a holiday elsewhere . . .
