World Oceans' Day Clean-up Today

Today Saturday June 8, 2019 is World Oceans Day.

On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all.

Dr Christina Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of the Vanuatu Environmental Science Society has confirmed there will be a cleanup campaign today.

“World Oceans’ Day cleanup is a collaboration between NGOs, CSOs and Government with sponsorship from TVL,” she said.

“We are anticipating about 100-150 people to join in. There will also be a question and answer session with the minister of Foreign Affairs about Vanuatu’s Oceans and Climate Change.”

Get together with your family, friends, community, and the planet to start creating a better future. Working together, we can and will protect our shared ocean. Join this growing global celebration at the TVL house downtown Port Vila to be part of this event.

Or if you can’t join our event on World Oceans Day, organise your own cleanup in your own are with you own community.

Everybody and every minute helps to keep our oceans free from our pollution.
