The Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department (VMGD) has issued another reminder about the activities of volcanoes in Vanuatu to visitors and communities.

Mount Yasur on Tanna, Lake Manaro on Ambae and the Ambrym volcanoes are in major unrest stages, the VMGD has alerted.

At this level, it means that volcanic activity is likely to remain at the same level for a while or decrease at any time but could also increase at any time.

Activity at the Vanua Lava volcano, Lopevi and Gaua are unrest too with their alert levels maintained at level 1.

Visitors and villagers are urged to consider these information seriously.

VMGD says it will continue to monitor the volcanoes and provide updates to communities.
