The Vanuatu Water, Sanitarian and Hygiene (WASH) IEC Standardization working group under the Vanuatu WASH Sector will be launching the WASH IEC awareness materials on Friday, July 15.

The program is funded by UNICEF with the Department of Geology, Mines and Water Resources (DGMWR) as the leading agency and implementation is by ADRA Vanuatu. The DGMWR says the WASH IEC working committee is made up of most of the WASH agencies and government offices including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Justice and Community Services.

The developed materials were endorsed and approved by the National Advisory Board (NAB) and the Ministry of Health.

The materials with key WASH messages include: cloth materials – T-shorts, sarongs, tea towels and handbags; printed materials – note books, menstrual hygiene posters, water container stickers and calendars; media materials – DVD Miusik blong WASH, radio spots and website

The launching will take place at the Market House in Port Vila.
