Water tanks to run Mele water supply system

RMC’s MP for rural Efate and Minister of Health recently donated two 10,000 litre water tanks to the Mele community

The Reunification of Movement for Change (RMC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Rural Efate and Minister of Health, Jack Norris, has donated two 10,000 litre water tanks to the community of Mele.

This donation will contribute to the construction of the village water supply system.

These water tanks will help in harvesting and storage of water thereby ensuring that more than 5,000 people have a reliable source of water.

The tanks were purchased from the MP’s allocation fund, following a request from the community. Each water tank cost more than Vt200,000.

Community leaders said the donation will greatly impact the lives of their people. As the biggest village with a growing population, it is a challenge to ensure essential services are accessible to everyone so the people’s basic needs are being met.
