The employees of local business house, Telecom Vanuatu Limited (TVL), have undergone free medical checkup early this week.

Speaking with Daily Post, Mr. Harvey Toto said this exercise is part of their Wellness Activity, an internal activity that the business house is offering to its employees once in a while that allows the staff to socialise, have fun and at the same time to keep them fit, and it’s facilitated by a committee.

“This time around the committee has decided to organise for medical checkups for all the staff,” Toto explained.

“While the company has a service to provide to its customers, it is also the obligation as an employer to know the health status of its employees.”

The results of the medical checkups would show the health status of each staff, and according to Mr. Toto, those who needed further medical treatments would be financially supported by TVL.

Marine Reach, the medical team on board the Pacific Hope have conducted the medical checkup on the staff. According to Mr. Toto, the health check-ups include the basics such as sugar test, blood pressure test, eye checkup and body mass index.
